Symbiosis is an evolution system layered on top of classic PvZ. Every plant offers three distinct evolution paths, each with three tiers. On top of that, you can socket two extra effects to supercharge a plant’s role. The result: you don’t just “pick peas and pray”—you build.
In-level spends: You invest Sun to evolve plants mid-fight, turning early choices into powerful mid-game payoffs.
Out-of-level progression: You spend earned gold to unlock/boost plants between runs, shaping your overall roster and preferred strategies.
Think of it as a roguelite skill tree—per plant—stacked over your usual lane defense.
Sunflower
Econ Path: Scales Sun output for greedier mid-game spikes.
Support Path: Reduces nearby cooldowns and buffs fellow Sunflowers—great for rapid re-deploy.
“Witch” Path: Converts into an active damage/support hybrid for cheeky anti-rush plays.
Peashooter
Gatling-Style: Shreds single lanes with ramping DPS.
Shatter/AoE: Splash answers swarms and clustered shield lines.
Ricochet Rounds: Bullets bounce between zombies—amazing on long lanes and packed waves.
Two Extra Effects: After picking a path, you can slot additional modifiers (e.g., extra status, economy tweak, range/DOT twist) to tailor each plant to your board state and the map.
TL;DR: You’re not picking “the best plant”—you’re drafting roles and combos that fit the seed bank, map, and wave types.
Adventure / Random / Plant Trials / Mini-games keep the sandbox fresh.
Challenge Mode with difficulty options for seasoned veterans.
Speed-Up & Auto Sun Collection respect your time and let you focus on tactical choices instead of pixel hunts.
Ghost Zombie: Resistant/immune to “normal physical” hits. You’ll want non-physical damage, DOTs, or special statuses to reliably tag these spirits.
Plant Zombies: Infected versions of your green friends—forcing you to think twice about mirror counters and lane matchups.
These two alone make “always pick raw DPS” a trap. You’ll start packing plan B damage types and utility effects much earlier.
Feature | Symbiosis | Fusion |
---|---|---|
Core Mechanic | Evolve each plant along 3 paths × 3 tiers + 2 effects | Combine plants into hybrid units |
Resource Loop | Sun (in-level) for evolutions, gold (meta) for unlocks | Fusion mechanics + currency; more “unit crafting” |
Feel | Roguelite build-crafting per plant, tactical teching | Collection-driven unit variety via merges |
Counterplay | Anti-Ghost tools, status & damage type coverage | Counterlines via fusion combos |
Both are excellent, but Symbiosis scratches that theorycraft itch if you love drafting trees, counter-teching waves, and min-maxing synergies.
Econ First, Then Power Spike
Open with Sunflower into Econ/Support paths to afford mid-wave evolutions. Your first real spike is when core lanes hit Tier 2.
Pack Non-Physical Damage
Because of Ghosts, bring at least one plant path or effect that deals non-physical damage or adds statuses/DOTs. Don’t get hard-walled.
Specialize Lanes
Use ricochet or shatter paths in long, traffic-heavy lanes; leave short lanes to single-target railguns (Gatling paths).
Spend Gold Where You Evolve Most
In meta upgrades, prioritize the plants you actually evolve every run. Unlock their higher tiers early for reliable power curves.
Play the Map
Water rows, short lanes, or ladder-heavy layouts change the math. Don’t force the same build—adapt your pathing to the board.
Safe Greed Start
Sunflower (Econ/Support) + Peashooter (Ricochet) + a status/DOT tech.
Goal: ramp fast, stabilize with bounces, then tier up your carry lane.
Anti-Swarm Control
Wall/Slow Utility + Pea (Shatter) + Splash/Status support.
Goal: control crowds, bleed them with shatter & DOTs, then clean up.
Ghost-Ready Hybrid
Econ Sunflower + one non-physical path + standard DPS.
Goal: never be caught without spirit answers on wave spikes.
Windows / Android builds exist (Android package ~300 MB, ID often listed as com.CherryGG.PVZGS
, Android 5.2+).
Because this is a fan project, only download from sources you trust. Scan files, and keep backups of your original PvZ if you’re patching over assets.
(We do not host files. Search “PVZ 共生版 / PVZ Symbiosis Lizi gg” to find the creator’s official posts and mirrors.)
Pros
Deep build variety with clear, satisfying power spikes
Smart QoL (speed-up, auto Sun) modernizes classic gameplay
Enemy variety (Ghosts, Plant Zombies) keeps teambuilding fresh
Cons
Choice overload for brand-new players (so many paths!)
Balancing can swing between versions (it’s a live fan project)
Some device/builds may need manual tweaks or clean installs
Is PVZ Symbiosis official?
No. It’s an unofficial fan overhaul of PvZ1 created by Lizi gg (厘子gg).
Do I need the original PvZ?
Windows builds typically run standalone; Android builds vary. Always read the author’s notes and back up your stuff.
What’s the main difference vs. Fusion?
Symbiosis = evolve per plant with paths/tiers/effects.
Fusion = combine plants into hybrids. Different flavors; both are great.
How do I counter Ghost Zombies?
Bring non-physical damage or statuses/DOTs via the right paths or effect slots. Don’t rely solely on vanilla bullets.
Is there meta progression?
Yes—gold earned from clears unlocks/boosts plants between runs, so each session improves your toolbox.
If you love build-crafting, adapting to wave types, and turning simple units into specialized monsters, PVZ Symbiosis is a must-play. It respects what made PvZ timeless, then layers on a flexible evolution system that rewards planning, experimentation, and clever counterpicks.
